7:00 am - Hosted Continental Breakfast

 
8:00 am - Noon  4 Hrs CE – Workers Compensation – Advanced Topics

A discussion of such topics as extra-territoriality and reciprocity, Federal workers compensation and liability programs, the Alternate Insured endorsement-its use and misuse, and contractor/subcontractor issues. 

10 am- 1:00 pm - Spouse/Guest Event

We love that you brought a guest! So we've set aside a time for an activity for them, while you are busy developing professionally.  This year we will be at Lincoln Center Glass Blowing. It includes lunch with a spouse registration.

Noon - 1:00 pm - Hosted Lunch Buffet 

 
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm - 4 Hrs CE Cyber, Drones, and Ride Hailing Exposures and Coverages

A review of recent cyber exposure trends and coverages.  Followed by a discussion of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), exclusions and available coverages.  And ending up with a discussion of ride hailing (Uber, Lyft, etc.) with both commercial and personal exposures and coverage implications.

 
5:30 pm -7:30pm - "Dine Arounds" TBA 
This is a unique opportunity to meet-up with other attendees. network and socialize in a smaller venue as well as experience great food at a local establishment. We will be offering a limited number of attendees, varied restuarant selections as well as a Young Agent connect spot. You will be joined by at least one IIABO Board member of Staff. This is an excellent way to engage with members and IIABO partners. When you register for Mid Winter there will be a section to sign up if you are interested in participating in the "Dine Around" and an additional charge to your registration.

 
7:30 pm-10:30pm- B&B "Bonfire & Bar" Compliments of our Premier Partners
Kick back and relax as you grab a smore kit and head down to the beach. (weather permitting). For those attendees that prefer the view from inside we will have a gathering at Fathoms Bar. IIABO Board members and staff look forward to this first ever MidWinter After-Party!

A discussion of the basic concepts and theories underlying Business Income coverage including a review of the main policy forms and many of the important endorsements.

David Thompson, CPCU, AAI, API, CRIS 

After receiving his college degree from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and serving seven years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard, David began his insurance career in a family-owned independent agency in Vero Beach, Florida, where he was a licensed agent selling all types of insurance.  In 1996, David accepted a training and education position with the Florida Association of Insurance Agents in Tallahassee, Florida, where he presents continuing education seminars throughout the country on a variety of insurance subjects.  In addition to being a full time insurance nerd, David is an avid runner and smokes the best ribs, chicken, and pork in the country.
